Attorney Adam Sherman has earned a reputation as one of the best criminal defense attorneys in Maine. He has developed a specialization in OUI and traffic defense. Among the not guilty jury verdicts Adam has obtained for his clients are the following OUI cases: a case where the driver refused to take a breath alcohol test; a case where the driver tested at a .14 BrAC; and a case where the driver tested at a .20 BrAC.

Adam serves on the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. And he is a member of the National College for D.U.I. Defense.

Adam grew up in a small town in Central Maine. Prior to beginning practice in Androscoggin County, Adam graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2006. He graduated cum laude from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2003.

Adam was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving three years on active duty. A paratrooper in a combat unit stationed in Vicenza, Italy, Adam graduated from the International LRRP Survival school and, as a result, knows what it feels like to resist professional interrogators over days.

Adam has a passion to defend people who the government has charged with committing crimes. He believes that everyone has the right to a vigorous defense.

The highest court in Maine has commended Attorney Sherman in a published appellate opinion: “…Nichols’s attorneys undertook extraordinary measures in the attempts to track down cases that might provide comparable sentences, and we commend them for their efforts.” Maine v. Nichols, 2013 ME 71, ¶22.

Adam lives in Turner with his wife and his daughter and several cats.
